Annual General Meeting
and Camus' ‘Reflection on the Guillotine’
Wednesday 6 October from 5-6.30pm in ib3.307
The Deakin Philosophical Society Annual General Meeting is on this Wednesday 6 October from 5-5.45pm (approx) in ib3.307 on the Waurn Ponds campus. We'd like to have as many members present as possible; so if you can make it, please attend.
The most important business is election of office bearers (President, Secretary & Treasurer) for 2011. If you would like to hold an office position email me beforehand stating the position you would like to hold (This doesn't apply to those of you who have already contacted me about holding a position for 2010).
The AGM will finish at approximately 5.45pm, at which time we'll discuss a short essay by Albert Camus in preparation for the Deakin Camus Colloquium. You can access a PDF copy of the essay, ‘Reflections on the Guillotine’, online at www.deakinphilosophicalsociety.com/texts/camus/reflections.pdf. It's about 40 pages, so if you would like a hard copy find them pinned to my office door, ic1.211.
