[30 may] DPS meeting: Is the Myers-Briggs test an accurate measure of personality?

Deakin Philosophical Society meeting
Is the Myers-Briggs test an accurate measure of personality?
Wednesday 30 May from 5-6.30pm in ib3.307 on the Waurn Ponds campus

Following our discussion last week of the question ‘What is intelligence?’ and debate over the merits of IQ testing (including the method by which IQ is tested and the relevance of testing what IQ tests test), this week we’ll turn our attention to personality tests, asking ‘Is the Myers-Briggs test an accurate measure of personality?’

Brian Dunning’s critical introduction to the Myers-Briggs personality test should kindle a fiery debate. If you’re after more introductory material, try the entry for Myers-Briggs Type Indicator at The Skeptic’s Dictionary.

Hope to see you there.

Dylan Nickelson,
Treasurer, Deakin Philosophical Society.
